- Possession of Cocaine
On July 12, 2015 at 5:50 a.m., detectives responded to the Circle K located at 14517 N. Nebraska Ave. in reference to a business robbery. Upon arrival, it was learned that a Hispanic male entered the store and approached the clerk who was behind the counter. The suspect demanded money from the clerk and threatened to hurt her, implying he had a weapon. Out of fear of being harmed, the clerk handed the suspect money from the cash register. The suspect fled the store in a north bound direction. K-9 and Aviation units responded to the scene to assist, but were unable to locate the suspect. K-9 Zeus was able to track and lead deputies to the Village of Tampa Mobile Home Park, where he eventually lost the track.
Detectives met and interviewed the clerks on duty and obtained a copy of the surveillance footage of the incident which was video and audio recorded. An extensive neighborhood survey was conducted in the Village of Tampa Mobile Home Park, where it was believed the suspect fled into. Several residents were shown a picture of the suspect from the surveillance footage and several reported that the suspect is regularly seen in the park, near the entrance, but no one could provide a name or specific address.
Later that day, deputies patrolled the area where the suspect was believed to be and quickly notified detectives when they stopped a subject who appeared to be the suspect. Detectives responded and it was immediately apparent the subject they stopped on a pedestrian violation was the suspect from the Circle K robbery. Detectives made contact with the subject who was identified as David Dade. Dade agreed to be transported to the District 1 office where he gave a full confession post Miranda.
