On March 12, 2015, the 17-year-old suspect went back to the victim's residence and confessed to the victim about stealing the bicycle out of the garage. They contacted the Sheriff's Office and the original deputy investigating responded to the scene. Deputy Nicholas Elliott took the suspect into custody and post-miranda, the suspect confessed to the scene.
He admitted to stealing the bicycle because he was tired of walking. A friend of his told him he was caught on video and it was in the news. The suspect threw the bicycle into a lake. The bike was recovered but was damaged beyond repair.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect seen on the surveillance video.
On March 6, 2015 at approximately 5:35 p.m. the unknown male entered the victim's garage and removed a 20” black and red Hyper Boys BMX bike. The suspect fled westbound on the bike from the incident scene.
The bike is valued at $100.00 and belongs to a 10-year-old boy at the address.
