On May 12, 2015, at approximately 7:00 am, a resident found a 2-year-old male child sitting at the front entrance gate of an apartment complex located at 12406 N. 15th Street in Tampa. The child was unable to verbally identify himself or which apartment he was from.
Deputies spent the next two and half hours knocking on every door in the complex and surrounding duplex apartments within the area. Child Protective Investigators responded to the scene and took care and custody of the child who was unharmed, had a healthy appearance and seemed happy go lucky.
At approximately 10:30 am, Tiarra Bunkley approached a deputy who was still in the apartment complex advising she was looking for her nephew.
The mother and father of the child both responded to the scene, advising the child was dropped off with Bunkley around 6:30 am this morning. Bunkley was the sole person in custody, control and responsible for the child's well being while at a mutual relatives apartment inside the complex. Bunkley was arrested at the scene and will be booked into the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail.
The parents responded to the Child Protective Investigations Division to meet with investigators and pick up their child.
The investigation continues.
