Physical evidence recovered from the crime scene positively linked the suspect to the robbery.

On May 9, 2015, just after 3 pm, Everett Jones, walked into the Dollar General store located at 8702 East Dr. King Boulevard in Tampa.
Edwards then picked up some soap products and approached the check out counter. The clerk rang up the purchase and was then presented with a note from the Jones stating it was a robbery. Jones was given an undisclosed amount of money and fled, leaving the soap container behind.
Crime scene technicians and detectives responded to the scene and collected latent evidence left at the scene.
On May 11, 2015, detectives were notified that physical evidence recovered from the crime scene positively linked Everett Jones to the crime scene at the time of the robbery. Detectives were then able to match the surveillance photos to Jones for as additional positive involvement in the robbery. Robert Jones was arrested at his home without incident and booked into the Hillsborough County orient Road Jail where he is being held with no bond.
Jones is a Florida registered career offender with multiple felony arrest in his past.
The investigation continues.
