At approximately 11:13 pm on May 24, 2015 deputies responded to a "shots fired" call at 13705 Lazy Oaks Drive. When deputies arrived on scene they discovered a vehicle (Buick LaSabre) and the residence with multiple gunshot holes. They also encountered an armed individual at the scene. A deputy (Andrew Glassman) fired one shot (missing the individual) at which time that individual dropped his weapon. That individual lives at the residence and is refusing to cooperate with the investigation. It remains unclear as to what
occurred at the scene prior to the deputies arrival where the multiple shots were fired with some of them striking a vehicle and the house. One male inside the residence was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant out of Broward County. As is procedure, the deputy that fired his weapon has been placed on administrative leave pending the administrative investigation.
