    Deputies Quickly Identify and Arrest Cash Thieves

    Details:

    On November, 3 , 2015 at approximately 10:30 am, a bank customer was in the teller line at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 12233 N. Florida Ave in Tampa holding several bank bags waiting to deposit over $1000 dollars in cash. Unknown to the customer, before she reached the bank teller, the bags fell onto the lobby floor. Marilyn Rodriguez and James Logering who were also in the bank, picked up the cash bag and fled from the bank.

    During the follow up investigation, detectives identified Marilyn Rodriguez as she was inside the bank inquiring about her delinquent accounts moments prior to the theft. Logering was identified through a mutual associate.

    As the investigation continued, detectives enlisted the assistance of Patrol District 1 Street Crimes Unit who helped track down both Rodriguez and Logering at the Rodeway Inn located at 210 E. Fowler Ave in Tampa. Rodriguez and Logering were both arrested without incident.

    Post-Miranda, both suspects admitting to taking the deposit bag and fleeing the bank. Detectives recovered $800 dollars of the stolen money during the arrest along with illegal drugs.

    Rodriguez and Logering were transported and booked into the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail.
