The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and Attorney General Pam Bondi's Office of the Statewide Prosecution announce the arrests of four men in connection with a ring of commercial burglaries in the Tampa and Miami areas. Four of the burglaries occurred in Hillsborough County. The suspects not only burglarized multiple businesses, but also stole vehicles to carry out the crimes.
On September 4, 2015, suspects entered Global Beauty Image, located at 4897 W. Waters Avenue and stole over $100,000.00 worth of shampoo and miscellaneous beauty products by breaking through a wall adjoining the warehouse section and a neighboring business.
On September 19, 2015 between the hours of 1:10 and 2:35 am unidentified suspects stole two white Ford Econoline vans from Expert Security Professionals and Med Star Medical located at Corporex Park Drive in Hillsborough County. A 9 mm handgun was stolen from within one of the two vans. Both vans were then utilized in a business burglary at “CCTV Core”, which is located within the same Corporex Park business complex. Forced entry was made into the business and the suspects removed approximately $300,000.00 worth of surveillance equipment. The equipment consist of digital surveillance cameras and digital video recording devices. There were four specific brands stolen (Cortex, Eclipse, Max and KT and C) which are all exclusive to CCTV Core. It is believed that at least four individuals were responsible for the burglaries.
The suspects fled the Tampa area south on Interstate 75 to Miami. The stolen van from “Expert Security Professionals” was recovered in Miami.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives began working with Miami Dade Police Department and the Statewide Prosecution Office. Through the investigation, a similar incident, the defendants allegedly burglarized a battery store in Doral (near Miami) by breaking through the business wall with a sledge hammer, stealing cases of Kodak Max batteries and loading the stolen property into a van parked outside.
Investigation lead to arrest warrants being issued for the following six individuals. On November 17, 2015 Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives assisted by Miami Metro Dade Police Department arrested four of the six. Eduardo Batista, Yosvany Batista, Alberto Diaz Napoles and Alberto Hernandez Napoles are all in custody in Metro Dade. Warrants issued for Isoil Polo and Marcos Rodriguez.
