Between the months of August 2015 and October 2015, the southern part of Hillsborough County experienced a rash of kick in type residential burglaries. Members of the Patrol District 4 Investigations Unit were assigned the cases and quickly began identifying many similarities between all the cases.
During the burglaries, the suspects took multiple firearms, U.S. Currency, televisions, clothing, and gaming systems. The suspects targeted homes that appeared that no one was home.
In the past 2 weeks, District 4 Detectives assigned to the Intelligence Unit and the Investigative Unit, in conjunction with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, identified and arrested 2 suspects relating to kick in type burglaries which occurred in Pasco County. These burglaries had the same similarities as the rash of kick in residential burglaries investigated in Hillsborough County. HCSO detectives continued developing leads and were able to identify and arrest two additional suspects.
All are facing charges ranging from Armed Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, Grand Theft Firearm, Grand Theft, and Criminal Mischief.
In addition to the arrest, District 4 detectives discovered a storage unit where multiple stolen items were located to include 4 televisions, 7 firearms, 7 gaming systems, 1 purse, and 14 watches.
Almost all of the stolen property recovered has been returned to the owners.
The investigation continues.
