Details:
On September 17, 2015 at 2:28 p.m., a Hillsborough County school bus, carrying 27 students from Bryant Elementary, was traveling through Nine Eagles community. For unknown reasons, the bus ran off of the road and into a pond. The first three deputies to arrive on scene (Deputy Greg Wehr, Deputy Steve Favors and Deputy Nancy Burkett) jumped in to help the kids exit safely and search for more children. As a result of their efforts, all 27 children and the bus driver exited the bus and pond and no one was seriously injured. Until a mechanic examines the bus, we cannot confirm the cause of the crash. At this time, the driver is not facing charges and he was not cited.
