Details:
Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office was contacted to assist Animal Services with a kitten that was stuck in the storm sewer beneath Gunn Highway, just west of Linebaugh Avenue. A citizen had initially called to advise that they heard a kitten in distress under the road. The kitten could only be heard crying from within the drain, but could not be seen.
Deputies Josh Dahlback, Richard George, Michael Pecylak, and Joe Saponara responded to the scene and assisted Animal Services. Deputies Saponara and George climbed down into the drain on either side of Gunn Highway and utilized various tools to finally coax the kitten out from beneath the middle of the road.
Animal Services estimated the kitten to be approximately 6-8 weeks old.
