Deputies respond to a disturbance in reference to a male beating a female armed with a gun.

On April 27, 2016, at approximately 10:01 am, the complainant called the Sheriff's Office to report a disturbance occurring inside the residence at 12702 Darla Drive. The complainant advised a male was beating a female and he was armed with a gun. Units responded to the incident location and received no answer at the door. Additional units responded to set up a perimeter around the residence. Several announcements were made to get the subjects out of the residence, which met with negative results. SWAT and the Crisis Negotiation Team were contacted and responded to the scene. The subjects subsequently exited the residence and were taken into custody without further incident. Joseph Petway is in a dating relationship with the victim Sabrina Mendoza and had struck her with his hands and also threatened to shoot her. The victim knows the subject always carries a gun and believed he would shoot her. Both subjects were taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
