Between May 5, 2016, and August 18, 2016, the Defendant, Katora Eubanks, did knowingly and willingly exploit the 81-year-old victim, who is blind in one eye and suffers from the infirmities of aging, by forging and uttering four (4) checks from the victim's checking account to herself and cashing them at Wells Fargo, totaling $5,463.00, by fraudulently using the victim's credit card five (5) times at Publix, Walmart, and Walgreens, totaling $472.77, by committing the offense of grand theft by conducting three (3) electronic bank drafts over $300.00 from the victim's checking account to Pacifica Bayou totaling $4,476.00, and by committing the offense of petit theft by conducting five (5) electronic drafts from the victim's checking account under $300.00 totaling $654.12, for a grand total of $11,365.89.
All of the instances occurred within Hillsborough County. The check utterances and credit card usage were captured on video surveillance. The electronic drafts were conducted via the internet using the victim's personal identification information and the funds were credited to the defendants Brighthouse, TECO, and Pacific Bayou accounts. The defendant was a home healthcare companion for the victim. The victim identified the defendant in the surveillance video. The defendant admitted to the offenses post Miranda
