Children's Justice Center Toy Drive and Gift Wrapping Event:
The 7th Annual HCSO Court Operations Division Christmas Toy Drive to support the children involved with the Children's Justice Center (CJC) will hold a gift wrapping event on December 8, 2016 between 9:00 am and 11:00 am on the first floor at 700 E. Twiggs Street.
The Children's Justice Center provides supervised visitation services for children involved in the court system--many are in foster homes or subject to injunction protection--others have been neglected or are the subject of custody disputes. Whatever the case, these children need the services provided by the CJC to ensure their safety while visiting with non-custodial parents and family members. HCSO provides the overall security needed to protect the children during the visitation process.
The Toy Drive has been a great success over the years. Last year the Sheriff's Office provided Christmas gifts for 137 children from 74 families. This year, thanks to the generosity and support of Sheriff's Office employees in the Court Operations Division, toys and gifts are being provided for 158 children from 86 families...the children range in age from 6 months to 17 years old.
