On January 15, 2016 at approximately 10:10 am the victim was working at 5740 Pembroke Road operating as front end loader and moving sulfur. While moving the sulfur, the sulfur shifted (avalanche) causing the front end loader that Lammlein was operating to be encased by the sulfur, causing the sulfur to enter the cabin of the front end loader. Other employees on scene attempted to dig the victim out and three responding deputies also attempted to dig the victim out. The three deputies were all transported to St. Joseph's Hospital and treated for exposure. The process for recovering the victim took approximately 4 hours. OSHA was notified and were on scene.
