On May 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Brandon High School, Deputy Andrew Deluna was conducting an investigation of a Battery on a Specified Employee. The defendant, Shaquanna Poole, had punched a teacher, Carrie Andreev. As Deputy Deluna was taking Poole into custody, she violently resisted. During the course of the arrest, Deputy Deluna suffered multiple lacerations to both arms from the defendant's fingernails. Deputy Deluna did not use force taking her into custody with the assistance of school staff. Poole suffered no injuries and was charged with Battery on a Specified Employee (Teacher), Battery on a LEO and Resist Arrest with Violence.
