When deputies arrived they discovered a two-year-old female alone in a vehicle.

At approximately 11:00 am deputies responded to the parking lot of Home Instead Senior Care located at 2902 Busch Lake Blvd in Tampa in reference to a child having been left in a Hyundai Mini Van. A passerby called the Sheriff's office and reported that there was a child in a running vehicle and the child was screaming. When deputies arrived they discovered a two year old female alone in a vehicle. The vehicle was running, the air conditioner was broken, but the fan had been left on. Deputies discovered Mirleys Acosta-Cruz inside of Home Instead Senior Care where she was at a job orientation. Investigation determined that the child had been left in the car for approximately one hour. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to determine if the child was in need of medical attention. The child was fine. Child Protective Investigative Services responded to the scene and took the child into protective custody until they can locate a family member.
Mirleys Acosta-Cruz was arrested at the scene and transported to Orient Road Jail charged with Child Neglect.
