Information obtained in part from the Criminal Arrest Affidavit:
The defendant, who is a convicted felon, was armed with a handgun. The defendant went to the victim's residence with the intent to purchase 28 grams of Marijuana for the price of $210.00. During the transaction, an argument ensued between the defendant and victim Troussaint. Victim Riley, who was in a bed room located in the rear of the apartment overheard them arguing. Victim Riley armed himself with a handgun and came out of his room, at which time he observed them engaged in a physical confrontation. Victim Riley then witnessed the defendant who was standing over the victim Troussaint shoot him with an unknown make and model handgun. Victim Riley witnessed victim Troussaint fall to the floor in the kitchen as a result of being shot by the defendant. Victim Troussaint sustained a gun shot wound which resulted in his death.
After witnessing the defendant shoot victim Troussaint, victim Riley shot at the defendant, who was still in victim Riley's residence. The two of them exchanged gunfire inside the residence. The defendant fled through the front door into the parking lot. Victim Riley pursued him to the exit of the residence where the two then engaged in a physical confrontation. A witness observed them fighting. The witness advised under oath the defendant and victim Riley were fighting over the defendant's handgun. The witness observed
the defendant shoot victim Riley and saw victim Riley fall to the ground. The defendant then fled in his vehicle. Victim Riley sustained a gunshot wound to the forehead as a result of the confrontation and was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
Post Miranda, the defendant admitted he went to the victim's residence, armed with a handgun, to purchase Marijuana.
The defendant was booked into the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail where he is being held with no bond.
