On October 31, 2016 at approximately 5:48 pm, HCSO was notified of a missing adult on the Alafia River. Morris had taken his 3-year-old son for a ride on the jet ski and failed to return. When the wife called his cell phone, the 3-year-old answered the phone (facetime). The child was found on a small island (which is called Island 75 by local residents). It is a small island located on the Alafia River just west of Interstate 75. A private citizen saw the child and stayed with him until deputies arrived on scene. When deputies searched the island Morris' jet ski was located on the south side of he island, pulled up on the bank with the adult life jacket on the jet ski. Morris' wallet was also found in the jet ski. Marine units and aviation are searching for Morris.
