On March 6, 2016 at approximately 4:20 am, the 1999 Honda Accord driven by Roger Cooper was traveling southbound on Highway 301 when for unknown reasons, the driver crossed Highway 301 and went southbound in the northbound lanes. The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the building located at 9901 Alambra Avenue. The vehicle was driven through the building and hit a concrete fence located at the rear of the property. The driver was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. The driver was then transported to Tampa General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Hillsborough County Code Enforcement responded to the scene and determined the integrity of the building was compromised.
