- May 15, 2017
- Time: 8:15 PM
Pedestrian: Chenxin Jing (deceased)
4202 E. Fowler Avenue
Vehicle: 2002 Nissan Altima
Driver: Joshua Alston Harriger
5003 Patricia Court
On May 15, 2017 at 8:15 p.m., Chenxin Jing was walking westbound within the crosswalk across 50th Street, approximately 100 feet north of Bordeaux Village Place. She had activated the yellow caution lights prior to stepping into the roadway. Joshua Alston Harriger was operating his 2002 Nissan Altima northbound on 50th Street at 40 MPH when he saw the yellow lights activate and failed to yield to Ms. Jing. He struck her within the crosswalk with the right front of the Nissan. Mr. Harriger agreed to a blood draw, but there is no evidence alcohol contributed to this crash. Charges are pending. Ms. Jing is an exchange student from China.
