Thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, deputies recovered a stolen 2012 Honda Odyssey van yesterday and arrested Kephat Milien and another male juvenile in connection with the crime. The vehicle, which was stolen from a Brandon area apartment complex the day before, was traveling on Big Bend Road when marked patrol units attempted to pull it over. The mini-van fled and the deputies turned off their lights and did not give chase.
The vehicle was later observed pulling into the Big Lots parking lot at 3048 College Ave East in Ruskin where deputies took Milien and the juvenile into custody without incident. Upon being searched, deputies found drug paraphernalia on the juvenile along with marijuana and a loaded 9mm pistol on Milien. The Glock Model 19 was reported stolen on November 4th of this year from an unlocked vehicle in Pasco County.
The second juvenile is not being named as per Florida Law, as he is has only been charged with misdemeanors.
