On August 28, 2017, at approximately 2:15 am, at the Wal-Mart located at 6192 Gunn highway a black male suspect went to a register to have a Wal-Mart gift card loaded for $500. While attempting to get the card loaded the suspect distracted the clerk to look for cigarettes, which were located behind her. While the clerk was not looking the suspect used the clerk's computer to load the card. The suspect then switched out the cards, placing the loaded card in his pants. The suspect then wanted to cancel his transaction and left the store. The clerk was able to determine something was wrong because her register was open and there was a receipt for the loaded card. The suspect fled the scene, but the card was terminated.
