UPDATE: Jayquon Johnson Death Investigation
Shooter and his mother have been arrested.

Charges: Minor in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Trafficking in Oxycodone, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Charges: Tampering with Physical Evidence (x2)
The Office of the State Attorney has declined to prosecute the shooter for homicide in the death of Jayquon Johnson as they have found there is insufficient evidence to rebut Cody Quinn's claim of self-defense.
During the course of the investigation, however, charges were brought forth for Cody Quinn and his mother, Heidi Quinn. On April 14, 2017, both were arrested and booked into Orient Road Jail.
Cody Quinn's charges include Minor in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Sell, Trafficking in Oxycodone, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Heidi Quinn was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence (x2).
On January 1, 2017 at 1:35 pm, deputies responded to a shooting on Cabbage Palm Drive in Valrico. The death investigation remains active with ongoing interviews including with the shooter and examination of latent forensic evidence. Detectives are working closely with the Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office and the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office.
At this point of the investigation, detectives do not want any additional information publicly released while this process of the investigation continues.
