Charge: Attempted Kidnapping
On August 10, 2017 at approximately 4:00 pm, the 16-year-old female victim was walking southbound on Himes avenue after getting off the school bus at Himes Avenue and Flora Street. The victim does not take this bus, but she missed her school bus and decided to take this one. The victim noticed she was being followed by an unknown make faded red SUV which had all four of the windows
rolled down. The Hispanic male asked her, in broken English, if she wanted a ride, which she did not give a reply. The suspect continued to turn down side streets and eventually parked at the intersection of Himes and Minnehaha Street., where he exited the vehicle and approached her from behind, and while laughing, and tried to grab her. The victim ran until she reached the Bank of
America located at the corner of Himes and Hillsborough avenue and came into contact with a security guard and asked for assistance. The vehicle was last seen turning westbound on Hillsborough Avenue.
