    Teen Driver Challenge

    Are you up to the challenge???? Calling all teens with a driver’s license...the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office wants to see if you can handle the PAD – the Driving Pad!!!! Come put your driving skills to the test. Learn how to become a better and safer driver at the very place and with the same instructors that teach our deputies high-liability driving skills that help them get home safely every day.

    The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is hosting the Teen Driving Challenge on January 13, 2018. We are looking for teens with a driver’s license and a car to learn how to become better drivers. Students will spend some time in the classroom and then head out to the driving course to learn defensive driving skills.
     

    This is a hands on course where students will learn:
    1. Classroom Instruction
    2. Vehicle Maintenance
    3. Evasive Maneuvers
    4. Threshold/Emergency Braking
    5. Backing
    6. Off Road Recovery
    7. Forward Serpentine
    8. Reverse Serpentine
    9. Figure 8
    This is a FREE EVENT.  Space is limited and advance registration is required to attend.  Students must have a valid driver's license and provide their own vehicle to use.  For more information and for registration forms, please follow the link below or call Deputy Ryan Thomas at 813-247-8115.

    Motor vehicle crashes are the number one killer of 15-20 year-olds throughout the country.  This program is a joint effort between the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Sheriff's Association to reduce that statistic and make teens better and safer drivers.
