Community partner Enviro Build, LLC teamed up with deputies to provide gifts for 130 children.
Every Christmas, deputies in District III dig deep into their own pockets to make the lives of unfortunate children a little better. This year, they got a special helper who wanted to ease their financial burden by donating money on their behalf. Tomorrow, the result of that partnership, made in the “north pole”, comes to fruition when 130 children at the Town N Country Boys and Girls Club will find something under their tree thanks to Hillsborough County Deputies from District III and the generosity of Enviro Build, LLC.
When the owner of Enviro Build heard about the deputies’ generosity, they wanted to help those who already give so much. They donated $6,000 to be spent on presents on behalf of the deputies this year. In typical HCSO fashion, the deputies refused to let the company’s good deed go unanswered, so they raised over $700 from the District. The money was meant to fund a pizza party, but the deputies gave so much, that pizza turned into a full party, with food, drink and ice cream for each child.
"This is a perfect example of the spirit behind the holidays. You have an incredible corporate citizen in Enviro Build, LLC, who wants to help us help kids and then you have the individual generosity of each deputy who paid out of his or her own pocket,” said District III Major Kristi Poore. “I am extremely proud of this effort. These men and women didn’t have to do this but they choose to make our District and Community better by helping a child. That speaks volumes about their character.”
