Missing Endangered Adult
On June 7, Melanie Cardona was located in a wooded area in Violet Curry Preserve.

On June 7, 2017, the body of missing endangered adult, Melanie Cardona was discovered June 5, 2017 and the medical examiner has determined the cause of death to be suicide. The body was discovered in a wooden area in Violet Curry Preserve located on Sinclair Hills Road.

Description: White female, blonde hair and light blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a burgundy Florida State University shirt, beige khaki shorts, dark sneakers and dark prescription sunglasses.

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing endangered adult. On May 20, 2017 between 1:30 and 9:00 am, Melanie Cardona left her residence on foot and has not been seen or heard from since. Melanie left all personal items at her residence and only took with her a Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver. She has a concealed weapons permit which she left at her residence. According to her husband, she has never gone missing before.
