    Two Grand Theft Suspects Arrested, Stolen Property Recovered

    Detectives recovered $15,400 in stolen property.

    Charges: Theft From Persons 65yoa or Older, Grand Theft (x3), Grand Theft From Construction Site, Dealing in Stolen Property, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

    Details:

    On June 12, 2017, District IV detectives responded to 8311 SR 674 in Wimauma after receiving a tip that a stolen boat may be located there. Detectives found a 16-ft Boston Whaler boat which had been reported stolen on May 26, 2017 and a stolen lawn trailer. The investigation revealed the boat and lawn trailer had been in the possession of Andrew Brown. Further investigation led detectives to 202 17th Street NW in Ruskin which revealed the following stolen items: a Kawasaki Mule and Honda generator, Evinrude boat motor, Suzuki boat motor and a Bolens riding lawn mower. Dillon Hayes, was arrested at the scene and charged with 5 counts of Grand Theft and 1 count of Dealing in Stolen Property. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Andrew Brown. On June 15, 2017, Andrew Brown turned himself in at Orient Road Jail and was arrested and charged with 5 counts of Grand Theft.

    Detectives recovered $15,400 in stolen property and returned it to the rightful owners.

    All of the listed thefts occurred in the South Shore area (Ruskin, Sun City Center and Wimauma).
