The vehicle involved in the Hit & Run Traffic Fatality has been located.
On August 5, 2018, deputies received a call about a truck in the parking lot at 6805 Adamo Drive possibly being related to the accident. The truck, a 1983 Chevrolet pickup truck has damage consistent with the debris located at the scene.
The victim has been identified as Johnny L. Arrington (W/M, DOB: 04/19/65, at large). Next of kin has been notified.
Detectives are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a bicyclist early Sunday morning.
On August 5, 2018, between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., an unknown vehicle traveling southbound on 78th Street hit a bicyclist near the intersection of Eau Claire Circle. The unknown vehicle fled the scene, leaving the bicyclist, currently unidentified, and his 26", red Mongoose Element in the street. The vehicle (unknown if car or truck) will have front end damage including at least one busted headlight, likely the right front. Also, there will be damage to one of the right side tire rims.
