Charge: 782.04(2) -Homicide Murder, Dangerous Depraved without Premeditation - Second Degree Murder with Weapon. (Enhancement) – 775.087(1)(a) Weapons Offense Commit 1st Degree Felony with Weapon Utilized (Knife) to Commit murder.
At approximately 10:10 p.m last night, James Meeks got into an argument with the victim, Moses Wilson. The argument escalated when the defendant armed himself with a pocket knife and began threatening the victim. The victim proceeded away from the defendant into his place of business, which doubles as his residence, located at 4308 James L. Redman Parkway in Plant City.
The defendant followed after the victim, entering the business/residence, with the pocket knife still in hand. Witnesses saw the suspect utilize the pocket knife to stab the victim two to three times in his legs. The victim sustained two lacerations/punctures to his left leg and one laceration/puncture to his right thigh. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene due to his injuries. The Defendant was booked into the Orient Road Jail.
