A generous donation by Knight's Air Conditioning ensures that five K9 deputies will be protected.
When you combine a huge love for animals and an unwavering support for law enforcement you get Lisa Sisson and a lot of of body armor! Sisson and her company, Knights Air Conditioning, LLC, are donating five complete sets of body armor to the HCSO K9 unit at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 27 at 5808 Wilkins Road. Their donation is valued at $4,450.00.
Previously our K9 deputies have been outfitted by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., a 501c(3) charity located in East Taunton, Massachusetts. They provided 10 sets of body armor to our K9 deputies in the past year. In order for K9 deputies to qualify, dogs must be 20 months of age. That left the younger dogs on our team without armor. Knight's Air Conditioning generous donation ensures that the five K9 deputies that did not yet qualify for grants because of age will be protected.
"We just did it because its something we wanted to do and I don't care about credit," Sisson said. "I'm a huge animal and first responder supporter. This is our way of giving back and making sure it stays local."
Knight's Air Conditioning wanted to donate directly to the Sheriff's Office to ensure their donation was staying local and protecting our K9 deputies. For K9 Handler Deputy Matt Moyer, knowing his two-year old, German Shepard named Tonto is getting the same level of protection he does is essential.
"Tonto is like family to me and making sure he comes home every night, just like I do, is very important," said Moyer. "Its incredible to know that there are people like the Sisson's and their Company that care about our canines and this Agency as much as we do. Support like theirs means more than any dollar amount can represent and I couldn't thank them enough."
Knight's Air Conditioning is a family owned and operated business located at 6520 US-301 in Riverview.
