    Details:

Approximately 525 pounds of synthetic marijuana, with a street value of over $500,000.00, was captured this month when detectives arrested Donya Hussein and Roger Wakim after they discovered their elaborate manufacturing and distribution operation in East Hillsborough County.  This is one of the largest synthetic marijuana busts in HCSO history.

In April 2018, detectives assigned to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Division received a tip containing information that large amounts of Synthetic Marijuana or "Spice," were being manufactured and distributed out of a residential address located at 3216 Little Road in Valrico.  Detectives, assisted by the United States Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Investigations, brought the investigation to a close on May 15th and 16th, 2018, with the execution of three court-authorized search warrants.

Approximately 9 pounds of Synthetic Marijuana were located in the storage unit located at 2108 Jelane Drive.  A search of the residence located at 3216 Little Road, utilizing the Clandestine Laboratory Abatement Team, revealed several items of drug paraphernalia used to package, manufacture and distribute spice, United States Currency, ledgers and documents related to spice manufacturing and distribution.  Additionally, approximately 525 pounds of spice in various forms and stages of manufacture, with an estimated street value of over $500,000.00 were also on the premises.  Donya Hussein and Roger Wakim were arrested for Trafficking in Synthetic Cannabinoids Over 30 Kilograms, and Owning, Renting or Leasing Property for the Purpose of Drug Trafficking.  At 4801 Calhoun Road, detectives discovered more records and documentation related to drug operation and small amounts of spice.

Roger Wakim and Donya Hussein were arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail on 5/15/18 and have since bonded out.  Wakim was previously arrested in March 2017 and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent.
