    "Paws for a Cawse"

HCSO's K-9 unit participated in "Paws for a Cawse" on Saturday, November 13 at Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa. The event benefited Kids and Canines and Hillsborough House of Hope. The event featured HCSO and TPD K-9 demonstrations, Frisbee demonstrations, contests, raffles, vendors, wheelchair obstacles and more.

Hillsborough House of Hope provides a temporary residence for women who have been incarcerated in the Hillsborough County Jail. The home provides a safe and supportive environment for women while they locate a permanent residence and get a job. Kids and Canines gives at-risk truant middle school teens a new "leash" on life. Students are paired with a dog, for the purpose of training the dog to be a helpmate to a person with physical disabilities, or a child with autism.
