    Established in 1846, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) is a 170-year-old law enforcement agency that provides comprehensive public safety services within one of the nation's largest and fastest-growing states and counties. Employing approximately 3,500 full-time personnel, in 2015, the HCSO was ranked the seventeenth largest law enforcement agency for total law enforcement and civilian staffing in the U.S.1 The HCSO provides law enforcement and 9-1-1 call dispatch services for 905,007 residents of unincorporated Hillsborough County and detention, court security and child protection services for a population of 1,325,563 residents county-wide.2 The HCSO provides law enforcement services to the second largest service population of Florida's 67 Sheriff's Offices.3 In 2015, the HCSO reported the ninth consecutive year of Part I crime reductions in our jurisdiction.
