HCSO Corporal Troy Morgan was honored by SWFBUD (Southwest Florida Bicycle United Dealers) with a "Swfbuddy" award on November 7, 2010. He was honored for his work in conjunction with SWFBUD to make the streets of Hillsborough County safer for cyclists. In July, SWFBUD president Alan Snel contacted local government and law enforcement agencies to try to get portable signs displaying safety messages placed along roadways frequented by cyclists. Corporal Morgan was the first to respond. He had signs placed at Fletcher Avenue and Interstate 75, and on North Dale Mabry Highway in the Northdale area. The signs featured messages stating "Share the road with bicycles" and "Allow 3 feet when passing bikes."
