  • T.I.P. Trailer Identification Program

The Trailer Identification Program (T.I.P.) is offered by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, free of charge to all citizens residing in unincorporated Hillsborough County. The program assigns a unique number to record the identification of your trailer, which will be available to HCSO deputies in the event your trailer is stolen.

Often, trailers are stolen and frequently recovered, however being able to positively identify the trailer remains an issue, when all of the identifying numbers, commonly known as Vehicle Identification Numbers have been removed. Along with the uniquely assigned number, photographs of your trailer will be taken, that could be used to assist in identification.

Protecting your property begins with you, so in addition to participating in T.I.P., remember to secure your trailer with a hitch lock or lock and chain.
