  • What is a vendor application?

A vendor application is information about your company. It tells us about you and allows us to include you in our vendor data base.

What is an emergency vendor application?

An emergency vendor application is another application for vendors who are interested in working with the Sheriff's Office in the event of an emergency.  An emergency can be defined as a natural disaster or other event that would require priority emergency services.  Vendors who complete these applications are indicating they are willing to work with the Sheriff's Office in the event of an emergency.

What does this mean to you? If the Sheriff's Office is faced with a disaster, it means you are willing to give priority handling to the Sheriff's Office for the goods and/or services you can provide on a 24 hour, 7 day per week basis. The emergency vendor application lists the items we feel may be necessary in such an emergency.

    What is this minority certification?

It is the policy of David Gee, Sheriff, Hillsborough County Florida to have minority business enterprises, women-owned businesses and small disadvantaged businesses participate in the Sheriff's Office purchasing process when ever possible. Completing this Certification is a critical step in identifying your company in our automated system.

What is the commodity list and how can it help me to get involved?

Everything the Sheriff’s Office buys is classified into what is known, in the public purchasing world, as commodities or services. It’s basically a classification system that helps us to keep things organized.

When you select a specific commodity code from our list, and return this information to us, we will add your company’s name to our current list of vendors who can provide the commodity or service needed. This information is used by the purchasing staff when they’re looking for suppliers.

What do I need to do as a supplier?

Print a copy of the vendor application and the minority certification (if applicable). Complete the information requested.

Next, look at the commodity and services list. If any of the commodities or services you can provide are highlighted/underlined, there is an additional breakdown that helps us to further identify the items you’re able to provide. If that’s the case, click on the commodity number and an additional list will be provided. Print both the commodity code master list and any breakdown lists that apply to you. Circle all codes that will tell us what you’re able to provide.

When you’re all done, fax us the completed documents. Our fax number is (813) 242-1826.

    Thanks for your interest.
