Colonel Perotti is a third generation Tampa native. After serving the Sheriff's Office as Deputy Chief Legal Counsel he obtained his certification and was promoted to the rank of Major in 2010. In 2013, he assumed command of Jail Division I which includes Orient Road Jail, Records and Classification, and the GPS and Criminal Registration Units. He supervised a sworn and civilian staff of nearly 500 employees. In 2017 he was promoted to the rank of Colonel of the Department of Detention Services.
A graduate of Tampa Jesuit High School, Colonel Perotti earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law. In 2013, he attended the Senior Management Institute for Police sponsored by the Police Executive Research Forum. In 2014, he attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation's, Florida Executive Development Seminar.
