    • Battery of a Disabled Person

On April 3, 2015 at approximately 9:00 a.m., a home invasion robbery occurred at 200 Cook Street in Brandon. The 57-year-old victim had just entered his apartment when two unknown suspects suddenly pushed in his front door and attacked him from behind by punching and struggling with the victim. The suspects removed a confidential amount of cash from the victim as well as various personal items. The suspects then fled in an unknown vehicle with a very loud muffler. The victim was treated for minor injuries by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue at the scene.

A basic suspect description of the two suspects was issued to all District II personnel. Approximately 30 minutes later, Deputy Royce Wingate entered the Race Track gas station at 810 Brandon Blvd. East, not far from the incident location. Deputy Wingate observed the two subjects in the gas station that appeared to match the robbery suspect description. When Deputy Wingate attempted to get closer to the two subjects, one of them darted into the restroom to avoid him and the other appeared to be avoiding him. Once both
subjects were about to exit the store, Deputy Wingate called for assistance and engaged both subjects in conversation to prevent them from leaving until his backup arrived. Upon the arrival of other units, both suspects were lawfully detained.

A search of the gas station bathroom garbage can produced the contents of the victims wallet. Review of the apartment complex video surveillance system outside the apartment produced a positive identification of both suspects during the robbery. The suspect vehicle (with a very loud exhaust leak) was also located outside the gas station

Subjects Bradley and Worlds were both arrested for Home Invasion and other charges are being reviewed. Worlds was previously incarcerated for Murder in the Temple Terrace area on 8/24/95 and sentenced to 22 1/2 years in prison. Worlds was released from prison on October 5, 2010.
