On January 14, 2015, just after midnight, HCSO deputies on routine patrol spotted Dallas Robinson, age 14 at 127th Ave and St James Place riding through the neighborhood on a bicycle without a head lamp.
When deputies attempted to stop and talk to Robinson, he jumped off his bike and fled on foot. A short foot chase ensued and one deputy managed to grab Robinson by his jacket. Robinson struggled to get away and started reaching into his waistband. Out of fear that Robinson may be reaching for a gun, the deputy released Robinson and at gun point, ordered Robinson to the ground. Robinson complied and was arrested without further incident.
Once arrested, deputies searched Robinson and located a fully loaded Tristar 9mm semi-automatic handgun with one round in the chamber tucked in the front of Robinson's pants. In addition to the firearm, Robinson was wearing an ankle holster that had an extra fully loaded magazine.
Between what was in the firearm and the extra magazine, a total of 19 live rounds of ammunition (mixture of hollow points and full metal jacket) were taken from Robinson.
Robinson has 14 prior arrest that date as far back as 2010 that include carrying a concealed firearm, drug charges, grand theft, robbery with a firearm and multiple counts of violation of probation. The most recent prior arrest was just 11 days ago on 01/03/2015 for Violation of Probation on a previous carrying a concealed firearm charge.
Robinson was once again booked into the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center.
