    Battery On A Law Enforcement Officer

    The suspect was driving a stolen vehicle.

    On January 21, 2015, a 2005 Dodge Caravan was reported stolen from 14670 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and an alert was placed. A deputy spotted the stolen vehicle traveling southbound on Parson's just north of Dr. MLK. The deputy requested aviation and followed the vehicle. In the area of MLK and Parson's deputies Liittschwager and Bonilla-Febres attempted to stop the vehicle with one patrol vehicle in front of the suspect vehicle and one behind it. The suspect rammed into the patrol vehicle in front of him and immediately placed the vehicle into reverse and backed into the patrol vehicle behind him. Deputies were able to remove him from the vehicle and place him under arrest. Henderson grabbed Deputy Liittschwager's leg at which time deputies took the suspect to the ground (roadway) where Henderson suffered a scratch to his left cheek. EMS responded and treated the suspect. No deputies were injured. There is approximately $1,000 damage to each of the deputies vehicles.

    Henderson was charged with Grand Theft Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Battery With a Motor Vehicle (2 counts) and Resist Arrest With Violence. He also had three outstanding warrants.
