2015 HCSO Annual Employee Health & Wellness Fair:
Sheriff David Gee has an ongoing commitment to employee health and wellness. In the past 6 years, several changes have been made to improve the health of HCSO's employees. In 2009, all HCSO property became tobacco free. In 2011, the annual Physical Abilities Assessment became a job requirement for all sworn personnel and the Occupational Health and Wellness Clinic was opened. In 2013, a full-time Health & Wellness Manager was hired and the HumanaVitality program was introduced. In 2014, a personal health physician was added to the OHW Clinic staff and new, healthy vending machines were introduced at 5 HCSO locations.
In continuing the Sheriff's Office efforts to help employees maintain a healthy lifestyle, on May 6, 2015, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will be holding their Annual Employee Health & Wellness Fair.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will be teaming up the National HumanaVitality Tour and over 35 vendors and local organizations for on-site Vitality screenings and demonstrations. Employees and dependents age 18 and older will be able to check their blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, BMI and much more. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about healthier food options, donate blood and even receive vision and hearing screenings.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is committed to keeping health insurance costs down while improving the health of their personnel.
