Deputies are looking for a driver who hit a pedestrian and left the scene.

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a late 1990's to early 2000's, white Ford F-150 with extended cab.

On October 5, 2015 at approximately 10:10 p.m., Nicholas Carson Southerland was walking eastbound across Orient Road just south of Waycross Avenue. An unknown vehicle, possibly a newer white pickup truck, struck Southerland while he was in the roadway, and he suffered fatal injuries as a result of the impact. The striking vehicle left the scene northbound on Orient Road undetected. The suspect vehicle will have damage to a bug guard which is located at the leading edge of the hood; a 2 foot piece of the guard was left at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.
