Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested
One suspect pointed a handgun at the cashier and the other suspect removed the cash register.

On August 18, 2016 at approximately 4:45 p.m., two black males entered the Sun And Farm Grocery located at 15005 Balm Rd. in Wimauma. One suspect pointed a handgun at the cashier and the other suspect removed the cash register. The suspects fled the store westbound on foot. Numerous patrol units responded to the area and established a perimeter in an attempt to contain the suspects after witnesses provided information on the direction the suspects fled. After viewing store video, an alert was voiced reference the suspects and the clothing description. The route the suspects fled led deputies to the home of Damian Roberts. Consent was obtained to search the house from the homeowner and two black male juveniles, Javon Powell and Jason Alceus, were located inside the house. The juveniles fit the description of the two suspects involved in the robbery. The clothes the suspects were wearing during the crime were inside the room, along with the firearm used and the money taken during the robbery. Witnesses positively identified both males as the suspects who robbed the store at gunpoint. Jason Alceus was charged with Robbery with a Firearm and Possession of Cannabis. Javon Powell was charged with Robbery with a Firearm. Damian Roberts was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (x5) and VOP.
