    Both Juveniles Are Back In Custody

    The juveniles escaped from Falkenburg Academy on January 31.

    On February 9, 2016 at approximately 9:50 a.m., St. Petersburg officers responded to a Call for Officer at 320-Northeast Blvd N. The unknown caller said that Anthony Cook, the second teen who had escaped from the Falkenburg Academy in Hillsborough County was at the home. Officers made contact with Anthony Cook, 5/23/98, and he was taken into custody without incident.

    At approximately 8:30 a.m. on February 4, 2016, St. Petersburg Police officers went to 251 Davison Avenue Northeast regarding a suspicious circumstances call at a vacant house. Once there, they located an 18 year-old man hiding inside the house. Initially he gave the officers an incorrect name. He eventually admitted he was escapee Anthony Bays and had a warrant for his arrest. Bays had escaped from the Falkenburg Academy in Hillsborough County on Sunday, January 31, 2016, where he was being held on Grand Theft Auto charges.

    Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives are searching for two escaped juveniles from the Falkenburg Academy (Department of Juvenile Justice).

    HCSO was notified at approximately 10:35 of the escape that occurred at 9:15 am. It appears that the two males along with others were allowed recreation time in an outside fenced yard. At 9:20 am a staff member noticed some of the juveniles looking towards the fence, staff members noticed at this time two male juveniles were missing. Closer inspection revealed a hole had been cut in the chain link fence. A head count was conducted and a search confirmed the two were missing.

    At the time of their escape, they were wearing green shirts and blue pants.
