Charges: Resisting Officer Without Violence, Aggravated Assault With Deadly Weapon (x2), Grand Theft Motor Vehicle
On March 19, 2017 at approximately 1:10 p.m., Deputy Rupp and Deputy Eakins were informed of a stolen Chrysler in the area of Turkey Creek Rd. and Connell Rd. The deputies observed the vehicle turn north onto Timberlane Dr., entering the Walden Lake Subdivision. The vehicle accelerated and turned right onto Alcott Dr. and right onto Kilmer Dr., which is a dead end with a roundabout. As deputies approached the roundabout, the vehicle had turned around and was approaching the marked patrol vehicle head on. At that time, the deputies activated emergency lights and stopped the patrol car. The black Chrysler stopped then accelerated towards the patrol car, intentionally striking it.
The driver and passenger fled from the vehicle on foot heading north. Deputies pursued the driver a short distance behind a residence located at 3314 Kilmer Dr. The driver ignored several verbal commands to stop and then finally stopped and turned towards Deputy Eakins with an unknown intent. The suspect then refused several verbal commands to get on the ground and appeared to take an aggressive stance. Deputy Eakins deployed his electronic control device, striking the suspect in the right bicep and chest area, with positive results. The suspect fell to the ground and became compliant to verbal commands. The suspect was identified as Steve Seago and was arrested and charged with Resisting Officer Without Violence, Aggravated Assault With Deadly Weapon (x2), Grand Theft Motor Vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed as stolen by HCSO. Deputies are still attempting to locate the passenger of the stolen vehicle. No deputies were injured.
