On May 29, 2018 at 6:50 a.m., three unknown suspects drove the victim, in a dark-colored Acura sedan (FL tag GWKN13), to an unknown area to purchase heroin. The vehicle parked along a dirt road and the driver and front seat passenger brandished unknown make/model firearms. Both suspects demanded money from the victim and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was able to escape the vehicle and advised one of the suspects shot at him as he ran away. Multiple witnesses confirmed they heard a loud noise, consistent to that of a gun shot. Further investigation determined the license plate was stolen and had not been reported by the original owner until law enforcement made contact with the owner on 05/29/2018. The victim was staying at the Value Lodge hotel, 208 E. Fowler Ave, and two of the suspects were captured on video walking towards the victim's room, prior to the incident.
