Denicia Tanay Brisbon
Charges: Battery, False Imprisonment
Deputies have arrested an Armwood student, Denicia Tanay Brisbon, for beating a 14-year-old girl in the school bathroom on October 25. The fight broke out at 12:55 pm., as fellow students stood around and watched, one student even filmed the incident and posted it on social media.
“I will continue to have zero tolerance for school violence and will put a stop to students that seek attention by preying on fellow classmates,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Parents deserve to know that their children are safe and our youth should not be afraid of going to school each day to further their education.”
Brisbon states that she was upset that the victim's cousins were following her around campus. Without provocation, Brisbon began to punch, kick, and drag the victim by her hair around the bathroom floor as she attempted to get up and away numerous times.
School Administration entered the bathroom, after hearing the screaming victim, and managed to pull Brisbon away. She was suspended from school, pending change of placement, and the person who recorded the incident is being disciplined in accordance to school guidelines.
Brisbon was arrested at her residence without incident. She is charged with Battery and False Imprisonment.
