Sheriff Chad Chronister and his wife, Nikki DeBartolo, are helping to bridge the gap, providing hope for the homeless. They will serve as chairs of annual Bridge Builders event Thursday, April 11th. This Thursday 1,000 community leaders and donors will gather for Metropolitan Ministries' largest annual fundraising event known as Bridge Builders.
Sheriff Chronister, who is also a Metropolitan Ministries board member, will introduce the newly-formed Metro "Brigaide," highlighting the significant growth of the Ministries' community-based programs for at-risk and homeless families and expanded mobile outreach initiatives. "We are able to bring aid to families in crisis, to families sleeping in cars or storage lockers, singles and veterans in homeless camps, street corners, or public parks," said Sheriff Chad Chronister.
More than 340 collaborative community partners come alongside the "Brigaide" including the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Together we aim to mobilize all the services the Ministries' provides on its downtown Tampa campus and bring them out into the communities who need them most. This has resulted in ten times the impact serving more families in more communities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk counties.
Metropolitan Ministries will honor the DeBartolo Family Foundation as the 2019 Bridge Builder honorees in recognition of their significant care and compassion for the entire Tampa Bay community.
