Man who took advantage of the self-checkout line, using it to steal nearly $300 worth of merchandise.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who took advantage of the self-checkout line at a local Walmart, using it to steal nearly $300 worth of merchandise.
At 5:52 a.m. on April 7, an unknown white male entered the Walmart located at 11720 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Seffner and selected a foam mattress topper and a 12-person tent from the store shelves. The man pretended to scan the boxes at the self-checkout line, but instead, scanned a sticker displaying a "0" on it. The suspected placed the boxed items back in a shopping cart and exited the store. The items are valued at $277.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30-40 years old, 5'10" and 300lbs. He has short brown hair and was last seen wearing a black short sleeve t-shirt, black long shorts and black shoes. He drove away in an unknown make and model black SUV.
